I have 15 years of experience in luxury travel including both leisure and business planning. I have traveled around the world including many countries throughout Europe, Asia, Africa, Hawaii, Mexico, and Central America. I am a Signature Travel Expert, and have also completed specialized training including the British Virgin Islands, National Geographic Journey's, Crystal Cruises, and G Adventures (including their sailing itineraries). When I am not traveling, I enjoy cooking and classes in horticulture and garden design.
Favorite Travel Memory
If I had to pick one it would have to be experiencing roundtrip supersonic travel across the Atlantic. As part of a promotional campaign, I was able to fly Concorde between New York and London. Yes, you can actually see the curve of the Earth! On this trip, I included a Chunnel train ride to visit some of my favorite cafes and parks in France. I feel so fortunate to have experienced such an incredible way to fly, and I dream of a supersonic comeback.
Southeast Asia is at the top of my list. After spending a few days exploring Bangkok and Phuket, I spent a week on a small clipper ship sailing the calm waters of the Andaman Sea, exploring the islands of Thailand and Malaysia, and experiencing some of the most amazing beaches and limestone landforms. This trip concluded in Singapore where I was able to enjoy some of the best food in the world at Singapore's Hawkers (food courts), and explored the amazing gardens throughout the city, all within a 3 day stay.
Why I Like to Travel
I love to travel as a way to experience different architectural styles and cultures. Living in Chicago, it is hard not to develop an appreciation for architecture. This started with my mom as a docent, taking me on the walking and river trips highlighting the city's famous buildings. It sparked my interest in travel so I could continue experiencing different architectural styles around the world. I also love seeking out new flavors and cooking methods from different regions. My favorite way to experience different cultures is through their cuisines.
