Day 1: Arrival in Amman

Visiting Amman, the capital city of Jordan, for a day and night offers a glimpse into the country’s vibrant culture and rich history. Begin your exploration by immersing yourself in the bustling streets of downtown Amman, where you can wander through the lively markets and bazaars, sampling local delicacies and experiencing the authentic atmosphere. Don’t miss the opportunity to visit the Citadel, perched on a hilltop, offering panoramic views of the city and showcasing archaeological ruins that date back thousands of years. Another must-see is the Roman Theatre, a well-preserved amphitheater where you can imagine the performances that once captivated audiences. As the sun sets, head to one of Amman’s rooftop restaurants to savor delicious Jordanian cuisine while enjoying breathtaking views of the city’s twinkling lights. The blend of modernity and ancient charm makes Amman an intriguing destination to explore, even if just for a day and night.

Day 2: Petra

After getting your fill of the sights in bustling Amman, it’s time to move on to breathtaking Petra, known as the jewel of Jordan. The drive to Petra is 3 hours so after a morning tour of Amman it’s time to pack up and move on to your next step. After settling into your accommodation, every visit to Petra should include seeing the red rose colors of iconic Al-Khazneh (aka the Treasury) at night. Stepping into the Treasury at night with candlelight is a truly mesmerizing experience that transports you to another world. As darkness descends upon Petra, the iconic facade of the Treasury is bathed in the warm glow of countless flickering candles. The soft illumination creates an ethereal atmosphere, casting mysterious shadows and accentuating the intricate details of the rock-carved structure. Walking through the narrow path, surrounded by towering cliffs, the anticipation builds, and then suddenly, the Treasury emerges before you, revealing its grandeur and timeless beauty. The candlelight adds a sense of enchantment, as if the spirits of ancient civilizations are awakened. As you stand in awe, listening to the tales and music that echo through the Treasury, you can’t help but feel a deep connection to the past and a profound appreciation for the wonders of Petra. The experience is truly magical, etching itself into your memory as a cherished moment of wonder and awe.
After your incredible candlelit tour of the Treasury it’s time to head to the enchanting Nabatean Cave Bar for dinner. This unique bar is located inside a man-made cave, which also happens to be the oldest bar in the world (2000 years old!), adding an extra touch of mystique to your evening. Cozy private tables and a welcoming ambiance make it the perfect place to unwind after a day of exploring Petra’s archaeological wonders.

Day 3: Exploring Petra and Wadi Rum

After breakfast, check out from your hotel and meet your private guide at the visitors’ center. Begin your visit to the archaeological site of Petra, starting with an optional horse ride from the main gate to the entrance of the old city. As you walk through the Siq, a narrow gorge flanked by towering cliffs, you’ll be transported back in time to the era of the Nabatean Arabs who built this fortress city. Marvel at the intricate rock-carved structures, tombs, and temples that make up Petra, a UNESCO World Heritage site. The highlight of your visit will undoubtedly be the famous Khazneh (The Treasury), featured in the movie “Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade.” After a fascinating exploration, enjoy a set-menu lunch at one of the hotel restaurants within Petra.
In the afternoon, embark on a scenic drive to Wadi Rum, also known as the Valley of the Moon. This majestic desert landscape, virtually untouched by humans, showcases towering rock formations and a sense of tranquility. Explore Wadi Rum’s beauty on a two-hour excursion in a four-wheel-drive vehicle operated by a local charity foundation. Experience the serenity of the desert while sipping on champagne and indulging in canapés as the sun sets. Afterward, head to Saraya Rum Camp for dinner and an overnight stay in charming Two-Side Panorama Tents.

Day 4: From Wadi Rum to the Dead Sea

Following breakfast, bid farewell to Wadi Rum and enjoy a transfer by Bedouin trucks to Wadi Rum Village. Sit back and relax during the approximately 4.5-hour drive to the Dead Sea. Lunch will be served at the Kempinski Hotel Ishtar Dead Sea upon your arrival. Check into your rooms and enjoy a relaxing dinner on the many outdoor terraces of the various restaurants on property.

Day 5: Sun and Spa at the Dead Sea

After breakfast take this opportunity to soak in the rejuvenating properties of the Dead Sea, known for its high salt concentration and buoyancy. Floating effortlessly in the therapeutic waters is an experience not to be missed! Experiencing the Dead Sea and its special waters and mud is a truly unique and indulgent adventure. As you enter the calm, turquoise waters, you instantly feel weightless, effortlessly floating on the surface due to the sea’s incredibly high salt concentration. It’s a sensation unlike any other, a moment of pure relaxation and tranquility. The mineral-rich mud found along the shoreline beckons you to indulge in a natural spa treatment. Smearing the mud on your skin is not only playful but also highly beneficial, as it’s known to have rejuvenating properties that leave your skin feeling refreshed and revitalized. As you bask in the warm sun, taking in the stunning surroundings, the combination of the buoyant water and therapeutic mud creates a holistic experience that nourishes both body and soul.
