Kansas City Office

Tara's passion to travel began at the age of 12 when she spent a summer in Switzerland with her family. With a passion to not just travel, but fully immerse and live abroad, Tara studied in Paris and Barcelona for 6 months each during college. After graduating with a degree in Journalism and International Studies from the University of Kansas, she took a job in global advertising sales sending her to live on projects in Austria, Italy, Poland, Latvia, The Bahamas and Malaysia. She then worked for the city of Zurich, Switzerland as an economic developer and later became a recruiter for travel and media companies based in London and Brussels. Having now lived in 8 countries and traveled to 33 (and counting), Tara relies on her own travel experiences and her network of inside connections to consult her clients on destinations around the world. Tara currently lives in Kansas City, Missouri with her husband and four young children. She loves to plan family trips, group travel, river and ocean cruises and more, creating memorable experiences for her clients that last a lifetime.

Favorite Travel Memory

One of my favorite travel memories is visiting Brazil with my husband for our honeymoon. We felt alive and free wandering the streets of Rio and the beaches of Ipanema and Copacabana. The city is vibrant with colorful buildings across from beautiful beaches and right next to nature with Sugarloaf Mountain and the breathtaking Corcovado.

Favorite Destination

Paris, Stockholm and Zurich are all places I feel deeply connected to and want to return over and over. But California, being much more accessible from my Midwestern home, is really hard to beat. I love the fancy surf town of Laguna Beach, the picturesque charm of Balboa Island, the cliffs of Mendocino and the wineries of Napa and Sonoma - and with my love for Europe, San Francisco tops them all. If you like charming little streets filled with great shopping, tiny restaurants, beautiful water views and a city full of character, then you will love San Francisco, and you don't even need your passport.

Why I Like to Travel

When I'm traveling, or even planning travel for others, I am in my element and my most peaceful, happy self. With travel, you create memorable experiences that you draw on for a lifetime. I love a relaxing beach vacation, but my most favorite type of travel is exploring a new city or country with my husband or whole family and gaining an understanding of a new part of the world. When I experience other cultures and all their variances from life at home, I grow as person becoming more empathetic to the world around me - in these moments is when you realize that life is short; the world is big, so go experience it all.
